Hype Machine Widget and Deerhoof
I put the Hype Machine widget on my blog today in the left sidebar. It’s a list of the latest MP3 sucked in by the Hype Machine. It’s incredibly fresh and completely unrelated in genre.
Click on something you have never heard of and surprise yourself. I have been listening to this “recent songs” list for the past hour, and I have not felt compelled to skip a song yet. It’s all great music because it has all passed through the human filter of being posted to someone’s music blog. Human filtering rocks.
Also, I found a new Deerhoof track on the Hype Machine today (via Pitchfork). It’s a great step forward for them, but it’s still classically Deerhoof at the same time. I’m going to the January 26th show at Irving Plaza.
