Berry Bloglines

thumb-bloglines.PNGI have to give a quick shoutout to a new CrackBerry app I’m a fan of: Berry Bloglines.

I have 82 feeds in my Bloglines, and each feed is quite active (as a general rule I kill feeds that don’t update at least once a week). So there’s a lot of information there; yet Berry Bloglines has no issue handling it. It’s fairly snappy, even with loading 200 items in a feed (though a feature request would be cacheing my feeds on my BB with some regularity in order to improve performance and offer offline access). Also, images come through quite well, so reading Hugh is no problem. It even offer limited control over marking items in feeds as read or not read, which is much more functionality than I initially expected. If a BlackBerry is crack, then a BlackBerry with Berry Bloglines is crack laced with RSS aggregating heroin… ok, the metaphor doesn’t do its addictive quality justice, but just know I’m hooked.

Best of all, the price: Free.

As a side note, I heard good things about Berry411, another product by the same developer, but so far it has delivered me mixed results… I’m looking for a better maps/411 BlackBerry app. Suggestions?
