Moving Sale

So, I'm moving across the country (New York, New York!). As a result, I'm selling my junk. If you're around silicon valley, let me know if anything catches your fancy.

An Alarm Clock Fit for The Gong Show

ClockyThis alarm clock is awesomely bad.

From the website:

Clocky™ (patent pending) is an alarm clock that runs away and hides if you don't get out of bed on time. The alarm sounds, you press the snooze, and Clocky will roll off of the bedside table, fall to the floor, and wheel away, bumping mindlessly into objects until he finds a spot to rest. When the alarm sounds again, you must awaken to search for him. Clocky will find new spots everyday, kind of like a hide-and-seek game.

Someone buy this for me when it is released. I can't tell if I will love it or dropkick it in a fit of rage… probably both. Does wanting this thing make me a masochist?

Apparently I'm late to the party on this one, NYT, CNN, and other major media outlets have already covered this story. Oh well, it's probably healthy to be behind the curve on some things.

Also, quick Google search shows that this is a media lab project. I guess they're still doing more than $100 pc. I feel like that would be a fun place to mess around for a year.

A failed start. Take 2?

Wow, my first attempt at blogging crashed and burned pretty fast. I will add my commentary on StartupSchool this week, as I feel the blogosphere's commentary was little more than a summary of what was said.

In the mean time, I my current employer, Homestead, officially announced my departure to the company today, so I'll do the same here on my blog. I'm leaving for Bright Lights, Big City – minus the cocaine (but hopefully retaining Michael J Fox). I know what you're thinking, NYC is just a rip off of that stylish Vegas casino. But who cares about originality, anyway?! I'm looking for jobs, but I have a solid back up plan if nothing comes through. I'm registered for the CS MS at Columbia. Coding! Weeeee!

My number 1 priority right now is figuring out how I'm going to handle being a Red Sox fan in New York. It could get bloody….
